Chekin ("we", "us", or "our") is a family check-in SMS service. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
When you sign up for Chekin, we collect:
We also log inbound and outbound SMS messages for the purpose of routing replies to your family group.
When you visit our website, we also collect basic browsing data through tracking technologies described in the Advertising Measurement section below, including pages viewed, actions taken (such as starting a signup or completing a trial), and device/browser information.
We do not sell your personal information. We use anonymized conversion data to measure and improve our advertising campaigns; see the Advertising Measurement section below for details.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Every family member receives an opt-in text before they receive any messages from Chekin. Members must reply YES before receiving daily texts. Any member can reply STOP at any time to be removed immediately. Message and data rates may apply.
We share data only with the services necessary to operate Chekin:
All services maintain their own privacy and security certifications.
We use two Meta tools to understand how our advertising performs:
Meta Pixel. We load the Meta Pixel on our website. This JavaScript tag collects information about your visit (pages viewed, actions taken such as starting or completing a signup) and may set cookies in your browser. Meta uses this data to help us measure which ads lead to signups and subscriptions, and to show our ads to people likely to find them useful.
Meta Conversions API. We also send conversion events (such as completed registrations and new subscriptions) directly from our servers to Meta. To help Meta match these events to a Meta account for attribution, we may send a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of the email address you provide during signup. The raw email address is never sent; only the irreversible hash.
Both tools are governed by Meta's Privacy Policy. You can manage how Meta uses your data for ad targeting in your Meta Ad Preferences.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with Meta or used for advertising purposes.
We retain your account information and message logs for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, your data is retained for 90 days and then deleted. You can request immediate deletion by emailing us.

All data is stored securely. We use token-based authentication for account access; no passwords are stored. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.
Chekin is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify organizers by SMS if we make material changes.
